Now entering his 20th season with the Green and Gold, Jones has earned a reputation as one of pro football’s best talent scouts with a keen eye for players who are uniquely suited to the CFL. Jones is directly responsible for recruiting Esks’ All-Stars past and present.

During his long career, Jones has been to eight Grey Cup appearances, winning five, three with the Edmonton (2003, 2005, 2015), 33 playoff games and has won nine division championships. In 2010, he was inducted into the Ourlad’s Scouts Hall of Fame. In 2015, he was inducted into the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Hall of Fame.

Jones spent 1998 as Toronto’s Assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel. Prior to joining the Argos, he spent nine seasons with Winnipeg as the Bombers’ Director of Player Personnel. During five of those seasons he was also the Bombers’ Assistant General Manager. He also spent time in 1997-98 as a Scouting Consultant for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings.

Jones’s first football job was as a Recruiting Coordinator with Northwest Mississippi Junior College in 1981-82. The team won the national championship in 1982.

Born in Elaine, Arkansas, Jones is based in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Jones and his wife Juanda have four children between them: Shaine, Keysha, Terry and Troy and are proud grandparents of Donavon Fowler, Kyzer Breece, Wyatt Edsol, Brayleigh Laike and Kynleigh Paige.
