(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos are pleased to welcome back Wayne “Ace” Powell and Ross Cammalleri as guest coaches for 2010 Training Camp.  Joining Powell and Cammalleri are former CFL quarterback Ted White, Laval Offensive Coordinator Marco Iedaluca and former Eskimo, current Head Coach of the University of Guelph Gryphons Stu Lang and CJFL’s Edmonton Huskies Offensive Coordinator Rick Walters.

Cammalleri assisted with the defence during 2009 Eskimo Training Camp.  He makes his return to Edmonton to help out again with the defence.  Ross currently oversees the special teams for Cegep Andre Grasset College in Quebec.  The Quebec native is cousins with current Montreal Canadien forward Mike Cammalleri.

Marco Iedaluca joined the Laval Rouge et Or in January of this year.  He brings 15 years of coaching experience to the 2010 Eskimo Training Camp.  Most recently he was the running backs coach for the Junior Team Canada in a game against the United States on January 30th as part of Pro Bowl week in the NFL.  Iedaluca has been on the coaching staff in various positions in the offensive role of each edition of Junior Team Canada since it’s inception in 2000. The former St. Leonard Cougars (CJFL) quarterback served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Cougars from 1998-2008.

Five-time Grey Cup Champion Stu Lang will be assisting with the receivers for the 2010 Eskimo Training Camp.  The Queen’s graduate entered the CFL playing ranks in 1974 with the Edmonton Eskimos.  He was the Eskimo nomination for Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of his inaugural season.  The Ontario native went on to enjoy an eight-year career in Green and Gold seeing action in six Grey Cup games and walking away with five championship rings.  Last year, Lang joined the University of Guelph Gryphons as the receivers coach.  He was recently promoted to Head Coach as former coach Kyle Walters stepped down to become the special teams coach with the Winnpeg Blue Bombers.

Ace Powell will be returning to Eskimo Training Camp for the second consecutive season to assist with defensive duties.  Powell brings 30 years of experience at the CIS level with Ottawa and Carleton and in the junior ranks as head coach of the Ottawa Sooners.

Ted White was the back-up quarterback for three seasons for the Montreal Alouettes (2002-2005) working under the tutelage of current Eskimo Offensive Coordinator Kevin Strasser.  The Howard University graduate also spent time with the Barcelona Dragons and Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe.  The Louisiana native had an impressive collegiate career and left Howard University holding school and conference records for most passing yards (9,713) and most touchdown passes (92) as well as school records for pass completions (638) and attempts (1,169).  White will be assisting with the quarterbacks for the 2010 Eskimo Training Camp.

Former Eskimo slotback Rick Walters returns for his 2nd consecutive year as a guest coach.  Walters played 10 years in the CFL, including five with the green and gold (1999-2003). He helped the Esks to a Grey Cup championship in 2003. Rick also has vast coaching experience, including stints as guest coaches for both the Toronto Argonauts and in 2009 with the Eskimos. The Edmonton native was a former University of Alberta assistant coach and, this past spring, was named Offensive Coordinator of the Canadian Junior Football League’s Edmonton Huskies. He graduated from Archbishop O’Leary High School in Edmonton and earned a football scholarship to Simon Fraser.
