Player Biography

Acquired: Selected in the fifth round (38th overall) by the Eskimos in the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft. King signed a contract extension on April 17, 2014.

2014: In 18 games, King recorded nine special teams tackles and one forced fumble.
In the Western Semi-Final against Saskatchewan and the Western Final against Calgary, King was the long snapper on special teams.

2013: 
In 18 games (18 starts) as a long snapper, King has recorded eight  special teams tackles and recovered a forced fumble.

2012:
 King played 15 games as the Eskimos long snapper. He recorded seven special teams tackles and a fumble recovery off a bobbled punt return against Saskatchewan on Oct. 13. He was injured during the Oct. 13 game and was placed on the 9-game injured list for the remainder of the season.

College: King played his college football at Saint Mary’s University (2008-10) where he was a CIS All-Conference linebacker. In his last season he broke the school's record tallying 114 tackles. 

Personal: King was born in Edmonton and grew up in Sherwood Park. He played for Bev Facey (2001-03) and was an All-Canadian linebacker for the Edmonton Wildcats (2004-07). In '07 he recorded 169 defensive tackles earning him the CJFL linebacker of the year and CJFL Defensive player of the year. In his best game with the Edmonton Wildcats - King recorded 17 defensive tackles.  King's brother Neil plays for the Hamilton Ti-Cats and is in his second year.
