2013: (Edmonton) In 16 games (16 starts), Burnett recorded 57 defensive tackles, one forced fumble, one special teams tackle and one interception. Burnett also recorded 32 punt returns for 289 yards and 11 kickoff returns for 216 yards. He was listed as a reserve for Week 5 against Montreal. Burnett returned for Week 8 against Toronto. He was named CFL Special Team's Player of the Week in Week 10.
2012: (Edmonton) In 18 games (18 starts), Burnett recorded 47 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, and a team-leading seven knockdowns. Burnett also recorded a team and league-leading six interceptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also recorded 28 kickoff returns for 573 yards (longest 43, average 20.5), 52 punt returns for 440 yards, (longest 43, average 8.5) and three missed field goal returns for 74 yards (longest 27, average 24.7). He earned Defensive Player of the Week honours in Week 4 with two interceptions, including one that was returned 108 yards for a touchdown. Burnett started the Eastern Division Semifinal and had two tackles and two knockdowns. He added three punt returns for 20 yards. Burnett was named a Western Division All-Star and a CFL All-Star.
2011: Burnett spent the season on the practice roster.
Pro: A fifth round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2009 NFL Draft, Burnett played in 15 games, recording 17 tackles (12 solo). He spent time on the practice roster of the New York Giants in 2010.
College: Burnett set numerous records during his collegiate career at the University of Central Florida. As a senior in 2008, he was named a first-team All-American and the All-Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Year. He tops the Central Florida all-time list in several categories: punt returns (96), interception return yards (262), and shares the mark for most punt return touchdowns (3). He helped UCF to its first Bowl berths - the 2005 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl and the 2007 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. In 49 career games (46 starts), Burnett amassed 221 career tackles, 16 interceptions, 35 breakups, three punt return TDs and two kick return TDs.
