2012: (Edmonton) In six games (four starts), Howard registered six defensive tackles (one for a loss) and one quarterback sack. He also played in the Eastern Division semifinal and had one defensive tackle. He spent Weeks 5-11 and Weeks 13-16 on the injured list with a hamstring injury and was reactivated for Week 12 against Hamilton, but reinjured his hamstring. He was on the reserve list for Week 17 against B.C.
2011: (Edmonton) Howard played 13 games (13 starts), seeing his first CFL action in Week 6 against Winnipeg. He made an immediate impact and finished the season with a team-leading 11 quarterback sacks, 18 defensive tackles and two forced fumbles. Howard also started the Western Division semifinal and Western Division final, where he recorded one defensive tackle. He was named a West Division All-Star.
Career: A 5th round selection by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2008 NFL Draft, Howard appeared in nine games for the Colts in his rookie season, recording 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Released by the Colts on Sept. 5, 2009, Howard spent time on the Tennessee Titans practice roster.
College/Personal: As a senior at the University of Georgia in 2008 , Howard earned First Team All-SEC honours and won the Sugar Bowl before being named the Sugar Bowl MVP. The South Carolina native finished his collegiate career with 79 tackles (60 solo) 13.5 tackles for losses, 12 sacks (15th on Georgia’s All-Time list) and 52 QB pressures.
