Acquired: Originally signed as a free agent on Aug. 1, 2011. Re-signed on Jan. 15, 2013. Re-signed again on Dec. 17, 2014.
2015: In 12 games (12 starts), Howard recorded 16 defensive tackles, one forced fumble and six quarterback sacks. Went on the 6-game injured list in Week 14. Howard was named a CFL player of the Week for Week 4.
Howard returned to the active roster in the West Final against Calgary.
2014: In four games (four starts) Howard recorded two defensive tackles, two fumble recoveries and one sack. His season was cut short due to a fractured left thumb.
2013: In 17 games (17 starts), Howard recorded 29 defensive tackles, two pass knockdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also led the team with 10 sacks, including a season-high three sack performance against the Toronto Argonauts in Week 14.
2012: In six games (four starts), Howard registered six defensive tackles and one quarterback sack. He spent Weeks 5-11 and Weeks 13-16 on the injured list with a hamstring injury. In the East Semi-Final, he Howard recorded one defensive tackle.
2011: In 13 games (13 starts), Howard recorded 18 defensive tackles, two forced fumbles and a team-leading 11 quarterback sacks. He started in the West Semi-Final and West Final as well. Howard was named a West Division All-Star for his efforts.
Pro: A fifth round selection by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2008 NFL Draft, Howard appeared in nine games for the Colts in his rookie season, recording 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He later spent time on the Tennessee Titans practice roster.
College: As a senior at the University of Georgia in 2008, Howard earned First Team All-SEC honours and won the Sugar Bowl before being named the Sugar Bowl MVP. The South Carolina native finished his collegiate career with 79 tackles (60 solo), 13.5 tackles for a loss, 12 sacks (15th on Georgia’s All-Time list) and 52 QB pressures.
