Acquired: Signed as a free agent on June 24, 2012.
2012: (Edmonton) Kent played in 15 games (three starts) and had 28 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles and three knockdowns, along with a team-leading four fumble returns for 34 yards, two of which were returned for touchdowns. The first one was returned 29 yards for a touchdown against Winnipeg in Week 3 and then he recorded another TD in Week 7 against Montreal when he scooped up a blocked kick and returned it five yards to the end zone. He also played in the Eastern Division semifinal and had a special teams tackle. He spent Weeks 4-6 on the injured list after suffering an injury during Week 3 against Winnipeg.
Career: Kent spent time with Montreal in 2009 and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2010-2011. In 2010, he played in 17 regular season games registering 77 defensive tackles and 13 special teams tackles. He was voted a team captain in only his second year with the Bombers.
College/Personal: The former James Madison University standout ended his career as the school’s all-time leader in interceptions with 13.
