Acquired: Drafted by Edmonton in the second round (14th overall) in the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft.
2012: (Edmonton) Lopez played seven games and recorded six special teams tackles. He blocked a punt in Week 5, the first for the Eskimos in 2012. He was on the 1-game injured list for Weeks 2-4, Week 6, Week 10-11 and Week 18. He was on the reserve list for Weeks 12-13 and Weeks 16-17.
2011: (Edmonton) Lopez played in three games and had two special teams tackles. He spent six games on the injured list and nine games on the reserve list.
College/Personal: Lopez played three seasons at the University of Waterloo (2007-’09) before transferring to the University of Toronto where he posted 22 tackles and one interception in his one season with the Varsity Blues. Lopez also competed in the 60 metre hurdles while at Waterloo. He was born in Leon, Nicaragua and also lived in Costa Rica and Naples, FL where he started playing football.
