Acquired: Signed as a free agent on May 20, 2009.

2010: (Edmonton) Barnes was on the reserve list for the first two games.He got his first start in Week 3. In six games (six starts) he has 21 catches for 324 yards and three touchdowns. He also scooped up a fumble on special teams for a 31-yard return.

2009: (Edmonton) Barnes started the season on the practice roster. He was first activated for the Oct. 16 game in Toronto and played in the final four games of the season. In four games (four starts) he had 14 receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown. He got his first touchdown on October 30 at home against Toronto. Barnes started the Western Semi-Final and recorded one catch for 10 yards.

Career: Barnes played for the AF2’s Central Valley Coyotes in 2007 where he led the team with 1477 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns. He also added three rushing touchdowns, giving him 40 TDs on the season, which was good for sixth in the AF2.

College/Personal: Jason played his senior year at Sacramento State where he played in 10 games and was the team’s leading receiver with 623 yards on 28 receptions and two touchdowns. Prior to Sac State, Barnes played two seasons at Sierra JC (Rocklin, CA) where he was named All-Conference as a receiver and the team went 21-1 in his two years. He graduated from Del Campo High School (Fair Oaks, CA) and caught 14 TDs his senior year. He also played basketball. His brother, Matt, currently plays for the NBA’s Orlando Magic.
