Rick LeLacheur assumed his new role on December 1st, 2011 and will serve in this capacity until December 31, 2012.  During this period he will assist in the transition to new President and CEO Len Rhodes and work closely with the City of Edmonton on the seat replacement project at Commonwealth Stadium.

LeLacheur joined the Eskimos as Chief Operating Officer in 2002 and was named President and CEO in 2006.

Recipient of the CFL’s Hugh Campbell Award for distinguished leadership in 2011, Rick  serves as an alternate on the CFL Board of Governors, chairs the CFL Audit Committee and is a member of the league’s Executive Committee..  

A native Edmontonian, Rick has successfully combined a successful business career with a leadership role in the community. In 1967, he joined the family business, Western Moving and Storage.  He was named President in 1982 and served in that capacity until 1992 when the company was sold. Rick served as President and CEO of Economic Development Edmonton (EDE) from August 1992 to February 1998.  He was the President and CEO of  Edmonton 2001 World Championships in Athletics.

Rick has served on a number of Boards including a six year term as Chairman of the Workers Compensation Board (WCB). He has also served of the boards of Alberta Economic Development Authority, TELUS Corporation, Allied Van Lines Ltd ,Prarie Land Corporation and Travel Alberta.

A former captain of the Edmonton Oil Kings, Rick has taken a lead role in several Edmonton sporting events and organizations, including President of the Edmonton Eskimos Board of Directors (1986-'87), Vice President of the 1978 Commonwealth Games and a member of the organizing committee of all four Grey Cups held in Edmonton. He has also been a committee member for Alberta's 100th Anniversary and the Alberta Professional Sports Policy Committee (1994).

Rick and his wife, Joan Forge, reside in St. Albert. Rick has a son, Rob, a daughter, Christine, and four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Parker, Tanner and Bennett. Joan has a daughter, Jenny.
