Coaches Clinic | Edmonton Eskimos
Coaches Clinic

As part of the Eskimo commitment to support amateur football in Northern Alberta, the green and gold host an annual coaches clinic to provide professional development for minor, junior and high school football coaches.

The clinic kicks off with a two-hour fundamentals workshop and includes a full-day, interactive classroom session led by the full Eskimo coaching staff, Equipment Manager Dwayne Mandrusiak and Athletic Therapist Denzil Ottley. Coaches deepen their knowledge of drills, preparation, schemes, positional alignments, personnel assessment, equipment maintenance and much more. The Eskimos also add the ability for coaches to take their National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) coaching certification on-site.

Fee: $40. Coaches from Red Deer north receive a $20 discount courtesy of the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club.

Thank you to the nearly 100  coaches who attended the 2013 Eskimo Coaches Clinic, presented by Save-On-Foods. Dates for the 2014 clinic will be announced in the new year.

"For 64 years the Edmonton Eskimos have provided support for junior football," says Edmonton Wildcat Head Coach Darcy Park.  "The commitment by the Eskimos to support player and coaching development at all levels has never been more evident. The Edmonton Wildcats are very pleased to be able to help grow grassroots football in the Edmonton area alongside the Eskimos."

Edmonton Huskies Head Coach Iain MacLean agrees. "It's with great pride and respect that the Edmonton Huskies are involved with not only the flagship organization in the CFL, but one of the best run franchises in North America.  The support that the Eskimos have given to junior football through 50/50 tickets and now through increasing player development and individual coaching capacity is second to none.  This coaching clinic has already become a must-attend event for all of the Northern Alberta coaches. With the support from the Eskimos, the Edmonton Huskies Football Club has assisted over 4,000 young men transition into adulthood and become contributing members in our community."
