The 13th Eskimo

Pride, Loyalty, Passion
The 13th Eskimo was first introduced in 2008 as part of the Eskimos' 60th Season Celebration. Commonwealth Stadium has been the home of the Edmonton Eskimos for over 30 years and the '13' flag represents the loyalty and strength of the Commonwealth Stadium faithful.
Canadian Football fans know there are 12 players on the field in the CFL. But the 13th and most important player is in the stands. The Eskimo Empire is the 13th Eskimo!
Each game, a person or group of people is chosen to raise the 13th Eskimo flag. The flag commemorates the Eskimo fans and thanks them for their support. Once the flag has been raise, the Empire is "in the house" and the game can begin.
