(Edmonton) Lawrence Tynes kicked a 31-yard field goal in overtime to secure a Giants' victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship two weeks ago.  And it looks like the former CFL kicker will be the hero again kicking a 40-yard field goal as time expires to give New York a 27-24 victory over New England in this Sunday's Super Bowl… as long as the annual EA SPORTS Madden NFL Super Bowl video game simulation is correct.

EA Sports’ simulation prediction has been amazingly accurate since it first predicted that the Patriots would beat the Carolina Panthers back in 2004. It has correctly predicted six of the last eight Super Bowl outcomes. Last year it incorrectly chose the Steelers to beat the Packers and, ironically, it was also wrong in 2008 when it predicted the Patriots would beat the Giants.

Let’s see how accurate these Eskimo players are at predicting a winner and how they plan to spend Super Bowl Sunday.

Hugh Charles (RB) - My pick to win the Super Bowl would be the NY Giants. The reason why the Giants will win is because of their defense. I believe defenses win championships, even though I play on offense.  If the defense can stop the other team from scoring points, they will become victorious. My best friend has a party at his house every year, so I'm going to be over there celebrating the Giants’ victory. 

Marcus Howard (DL) – I think the Giants will win. I’ll just be watching at my apartment.

Jerome Messam (RB) – I’m rooting for the New York Giants, but New England will win. I usually go to Super Bowl parties. This year I’m watching it at a friend’s.

Rod Williams (DB) - I'm pulling for the Giants because I'm a Manning fan.  I will be watching it with my son Tyler. It’s his first Super Bowl!

David Pittman (DB) – I think the New York Giants will win because of their defense. If they play the way they played against Baltimore than they will win. I also know some guys on the Giants who I played against in high school. It’s my mom’s birthday weekend so I’m going to the beach first on Friday and Saturday, then on Sunday a friend is having a big Super Bowl cookout, so I’ll be at that.

Chris Thompson (DB) – I think the Giants will win because they have a great front four that will cause problems for Brady. I’m planning to invite some friends and family over to watch the game and enjoy the commercials.

Brian Ramsay (OL) – I’m thinking the Patriots will win. Their o-line will play well and neutralize the Giants’ D which relies heavily on their front four getting pressure. With the time, Brady will have a good day. I’m going to the Super Bowl with some buddies who got tickets. It’s my first time going, so I couldn’t pass it up.

Steven Jyles (QB) - I really dont know who's going to win the Super Bowl. I believe New England is a better team with no knocks to New York. If Tom Brady can sit in the pocket like usual and Branch has a big game then Pats will win. The Giants have what it takes to beat the Patriots. The Giants need to keep pressure on Brady and Eli needs to have a good game, not great game, a good game. Then Giants will win. Therefore;  I'm a Peyton Manning guy so I'm supporting Eli this Super Bowl.  Go Lil Bro!!!
