Edmonton’s finest will once again join forces with Edmonton’s bravest in a charity football
game this summer to raise funds for the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

The game kicks off on July 31 at 2:30 p.m. at Clarke Parke.

“We all have been given chances and opportunities to be part of our communities in small ways
and big ways. This is our chance to give outside of our professions,” says Det. Ray Wood with
the EPS. “For some of us in a way that is very personal and that directly helps a very special and
deserving organization, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.”

This is the third year that EPS members and EFD firefighters meet in a friendly competition of
flag football. Edmonton Eskimo guest coaches Ricky Ray and Jason Maas will provide coaching
support this year.

Since the fundraiser began in 2008, all those involved raised $17,000. This year the teams hopes
to raise at least $10,000. On the day of the big game, a silent auction will be held at Clarke Park
before the kick off for exciting prizes, including EPS ride-alongs, a tour of the Canine Unit, and
signed memorabilia by the Edmonton Eskimos.

Commemorative T-shirts will also be available for purchase very soon.

“We are grateful for the commitment of Edmonton Fire Rescue Services and the Edmonton Police
Service for supporting children’s health in our community,” says Jennifer Wood, President
& CEO of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. “These men and women already do so
much for our community, but this annual fundraiser continues to go above and beyond their call
of duty.”

Tickets are now on sale at United Cycle, the Eskimo Team Store (9023-111 Ave.), and at
Second Cup on 109 Street and Jasper Avenue. Tickets can also be purchased at the door
before the game for $10 per person, or $20 per family.
