(Edmonton) – The Edmonton Eskimos announce the return of running back Cory Boyd.
“We are unsure of Hugh Charles' availability due to the injury he sustained in Friday’s game. As a precaution, we are bringing in Cory who already knows our system,” says Eskimo Head Coach Kavis Reed.
The Eskimos released Boyd on October 11. He initially signed the day after his release from the Toronto Argonauts in August. He played four games for the green and gold and had 18 carries for 76 yards and four catches for 40 yards. When Boyd was released from Toronto, he was the league's leading rusher with 80 carries for 447 yards and two touchdowns. He also hauled in 23 passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns.
