Tools for School officially kicked off for the fifteenth year on Friday at the United Way's InKind Centre. The program donates school supplies to children in need. Last year, more than 7,000 students received school supplies in the Capital Region.
"Take a moment and think about a child going to school without supplies. That's tough," says Eskimo Head Scout Ed Hervey. "What we are investing in is our future, our children's education."
Supplies such as backpacks, binders, lined paper, pencils and pens are needed in order to help children be successful in school. Supply drop off depots will be in effect until September 15, 2009. Cash donations can also be made through any Staples Business Depot location.
