Eskimos welcome back Allan Watt as vice president of marketing and communications

Edmonton Eskimo President and CEO Len Rhodes today announced that respected Canadian sports executive and Edmonton native Allan Watt is returning to the Eskimos as vice president of marketing and communications.
Watt was most recently vice president of broadcast and communications with the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club, joining them in 1996 and working there through 2012. During his time at the Oilers, his responsibilities included leading sponsorship sales and service, marketing and brand execution, corporate communications, broadcasting properties and publicity.
Allan spent close to 16 years in management and senior executive positions with the Eskimos, first joining the club in 1980 as media relations director. He was later named director of public relations and communications and eventually assistant general manager – administration. His duties during his time with the Esks included marketing, corporate sponsorship, advertising, promotions and ticket sales.
Prior to joining the green and gold, Allan spent 10 years with CBC as a sports broadcaster covering several events including the Olympic Games, Pan-American Games, Commonwealth Games, Canada Summer and Winter games and live broadcast of CFL Grey Cup Championships.
